Dear Reader, My Wife and I run a family owned independent travel agency in Rhyl and would like to comment on the recent problems facing the travel industry.

When a large company such as XL Holidays and Airlines such as Freedom Flights, and Zoom go in to liquidation all those passengers who have booked their Package Holiday with a ATOL (Air Travel Organisers License) Travel agency, such as us (We Travel 2U Ltd.) and the larger multiples would have had their Holiday covered by the scheme, Passengers on vacation have been allowed to finish their holiday and received a alternant return flight, all those waiting to travel have been offered a full refund or the same holiday but with a different company.

Passengers who had booked a Flight Only with us are covered by our IATA (International Air Transport Association) and

our CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) Which acts as a Airline Failure Insurance.

We also have one more Customer Insurance called the Client Account, which means the Tour Operators, Airlines, and Bed Banks can only receive payment on receipt of the invoice from the relevant operator.

The only People who will lose out are the one’s who booked separate components of their holiday, i.e. Flights with one company, Hotel with another and Transfers with a another, these people are acting as a Tour Operator and putting the package together them selves, but with out any protection from the likes of ATOL, IATA, and CAA. This is the main reason there are Travel Agencies such as us (We Travel 2U Ltd.) who can Make a package holiday and cover all aspects of the holiday under our ATOL, IATA, and CAA.

All our customers involved were sorted out within 24 hours of the news breaking. How many Internet D.I.Y., (who thought they were saving a couple of pounds), have now lost all of their money, and wish they had booked through a protected Travel Agency?

I hope this will make the public at large understand the true value of the Travel Agents (Independent or Multiples).
